Joel Zakrisson: Art Inspiration

A big source of my inspiration recently comes from Joel Zakrisson, an environment artist for DICE. His artstation is full of helpful breakdowns of his workflow and one in particular caught my attention:

ZAKRISSON, J. (2017). Mansion Hall. [Online Image] Available at: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/deoLe [12/04/2018].

This is a beautifully modelled scene and is a prime example of the high standards I am aiming to achieve with my major project environment. Zakrisson's work is particularly helpful to my research as he has demonstrated step by step his workflow and the techniques he has utilised when lighting the scene. The project is actually available for sale on the Unreal Engine marketplace and I intend to study it!

He has also posted a video of him piecing the environment together in Unreal Engine:

ZAKRISSON, Z. (2017) Mansion Modularity. [Online Video] January 3rd. Available from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRCrWh9VgUM [Accessed: 12/04/2018]

This is incredibly helpful to me as I often struggle piecing assets together in Unreal Engine. My dream goal is to get my lighting and materials to a similar level of quality as seen throughout Joel's portfolio.
